| Does chlorine produce carcinogenic traces? |
| It has been reported that the chlorine widely used by municipal water systems to disinfect water produces carcinogenic traces. Chemically bonding with the proteins in our body, chlorine causes dry skin and hair, irritates the eyes causing redness and, when inhaled directly into the lungs via shower vapor, can cause a host of other health concerns. Drinking chlorinated water may as much as double your risk of developing bladder cancer, which strikes some 40,000 people a year.
